I needed a new bow mount sonar. All I need to know is depth, bottom composition and water temp. I have gps and down scan, etc in the stern(tiller boat); did not need any more technology. Thanks for the most elementary Hook2. Exactly what I needed. Plus......it is very user friendly. The wider view of the bottom is very useful. When U add in the voltmeter, I cud not have asked for more. An added bonus, very competetively priced! Thank you, Lowrance. Your competitors are for the “birds”.
I have been using this unit for 7 months on my pro angler. I fish inshore, rivers, and lakes. This unit is so easy to use and will handle every task I need fishing from a kayak. Great little unit!
WE love our Hook2 4x !!! It is so easy to use . The one thing we were not expecting was all the stuff it will do . Mind you , we are a little older and technology has kind of passed us by a bit . With that said , the Hook2 4x was pretty darn easy to figure out . WE would have used it a LOT more if it wasn't for all these fires surrounding all our Lakes .
I bought this for my pontoon boat. I wanted a basic unit for this boat. It is easy to use. The detail on the screen are good for its size. It does not have any mapping capabilities but it does have a gps plotter screen which is all I wanted. It is great for its price. If you are expecting the features of high end unit you will not be happy but for $100.00 it's a great unit.
I bought the hook2 with bullet skimmer and liked it so muck I bought another 2 weeks later. Now I have one on the front and back of my boat. Excellent product and easy to use!! Thanks lowrance!
You know how the promise is better than the product. Well i did breath a sigh of . Oh heck ya. Just what i expected. And a little more. This thing is easy to install and more importantly it has a very short learning curve to operate. I get all the info i need in a tournament situation and in my practice time. And i put my grandsons on some crappie pretty quickly.
I bought this product a year ago. Giving it a year of use I felt I'm ready to give a reliable review. The size makes it great for kayak fishing. It's very easy to use and setting up is very easy. I highly recommend it!

I purchased the Hook2 4X just for my trolling motor set up. LOVE IT!! Amazingly small with easy to screen very easy to hook install and a very simple unit due to only having a few features. However, it is perfect for my set up and the price point was even better at $151 cdn for a colour lowrance unit.
I have been using my hook 2 4x for a month. Simple to install and setup. A little lite on instructions but let be honest, who reads the manual until there is a problem? From all that I read I expected it to have a simple GPS in the system but it must be well hidden as I have yet to find it. But again who cares I have a high grade GPS on the boat and don't need the one that I thought would be on the hook.
I can travel at 25 knots and still get great bottom readings and depth numbers on the display.
I was looking for a low prices unit for the bow of my boat and I came across the Hook 2. It does what it is supposed to and never fails. If your looking for a nice unit for a good price look no further.
Bought this when first released. Very good begginner machine. Had a humming bird unit and this hands down is the easiest machine ive picked up. Love the size. Fits perfect on my one man skeeter.

I purchase the HDS 12 6 months ago. It has been a great unit for its chart plotter/fishfinder capability it has great bottom separation when your looking for lake trout and salmon on the bottom
I bought the unit to primary use on small lakes and rivers. It works great for that. Once I get onto bigger bodies of water ie: Green Bay, I definitely wish i had a larger unit with mapping available. Otherwise it works as it should.
My wife bought this unit for my birthday, I’ve installed it on my pontoon boat it’s great for showing depth when it works. I like the ease of use it was very easy to install and for my first fishfinder it does a acceptable job. The only downfall I have so far is the fact that it did not come with a user manual and I’ve had to download one online get information I require.
I bought the unit a few months ago and had problems powering on, then once I got the unit working the transducer kept spamming out and reading the wrong depth and reading the underwater surroundings wrong. But after I got sick of it I hit the unit reset, and that ended all the problems and fixed everything. Good unit for kayak and small boat.
Bought the product for in dash depth on plane. Had to adjust the skimmer a little, but the reading are accurate to around 55 mph.........very happy with the purchase!!
